St. Luke’s Rehabilitation Institute, located in Spokane, WA, is currently seeking a Manager of Facilities and Grounds.
The Facilities Manager oversees operations of the Facilities and Grounds, and departments including the buildings and grounds of St. Luke’s Rehabilitation Institute, the region’s largest medical rehabilitation facility. The Manager is responsible for the operational, fiscal and personnel oversight of the Facilities Department, as well as ensuring St. Luke’s is compliant with requirements of applicable codes and regulatory agencies and maintains all the appropriate regulatory documentation.
SPECIFIC PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES- All functions are essential functions unless otherwise noted.
Responsible for the day-to-day supervision and scheduling of all staff that are assigned to his/her authority to include hiring, training, annual evaluations, scheduling, discipline and payroll.
Responsible for assessing compliance with the Life Safety Code, the eSOC and managing deficiencies.
Responsible for compliance with Uniform Building Code, City of Spokane Building Code, Washington State WAC’s, National Fire Protection Association Codes, National Electrical Code, Americans with Disabilities Act, Dept. of Health WAC’s, and The Joint Commission and CARF requirements.
Receives orders & discusses plans with appropriate personnel.
Periodically inspects condition of Hospital equipment and facilities to ensure proper and safe operation of Hospital equipment.
Assists in keeping equipment logs and reports as required by state and local agencies.
Compiles actual costs in time and materials to ensure correct record keeping.
Computes job costs for budgetary purposes.
Make recommendations for major repair or replacements as required for safe and reliable operation of Hospital.
Assists in maintaining cost records for budgetary reasons.
Assists in preparing annual department budget as required by Administration.
When directed, accompanies state & local inspectors on tours of Hospital to assist with inspection.
Evaluates assigned Facilities personnel on a yearly basis per Hospital guidelines.
Performs in an accurate and precise manner in crisis and emergency situations when time is critical.
Maintains equipment and supplies properly; schedules repairs and orders supplies as necessary; demonstrates cost consciousness in using and ordering supplies.
Works closely and effectively with all Hospital departments ensuring a safe, functional, clean environment.
Seeks out work that needs to be done; works on on-going projects, assists others as needed.
Responds to changes in work schedule as necessary; continually uses time to best interest of Hospital.
Independently participates in facility learning experience when available, improving current levels of skills and knowledge.
Assists in the development of manuals, guidelines, records, and, other informational materials for the department as required.
Understands emergency procedures and internal/external guidelines.
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or Architecture or equivalent with combined education and experience
Possess valid driver’s license.
Must be familiar with building construction codes, techniques and interpretation of engineering specifications.
Previous manager experience
3-5 years hospital or similar institution work experience
Specialized training in Business Management and staff training programs.
Prior healthcare facilities experience with accrediting bodies
