The ChristianaCare Enterprise EMR Systems Managed Services team is seeking a talented Systems Engineer to implement and support critical components of our Cerner Millennium system, mainly managing data through the Cerner Foreign System Interfaces (FSI) and Cloverleaf interface engines.
Support interfaced transaction streams across the enterprise EHR system (Cerner Millennium).
Work in a collaborative fashion with other members of the immediate System Managed Services Team, extended Enterprise EMR Team, and other groups within the IT organization and various service lines.
Work closely with Incident Management team for operational FSI incident types and follow departmental ITIL processes.
This position includes assisting on-call teams with operational issues with FSI as needed.
Support and development of interfaces using Cerner Millennium and Cloverleaf tools and programming languages (Open Engine scripting and Tcl respectively)
Assist with root cause investigations and provide recommendations for preventative measures.
Document various SOP's and work instructions based on the CCHS implementation of the Millennium system.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent technical discipline
Experience developing and maintaining HL7v2 interfaces.
Understanding of network infrastructure components, specifically DNS, AD, secure authentication methods, VPN's, etc.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Understanding of data flows for clinical, financial and patient movement perspectives.
Demonstrated ability to assist in the definition and development of reports for interfaced transactions.
Strong commitment to quality documentation including writing job aids and documenting data flows within sending and receiving systems.
Highly flexible and able to multitask in a dynamic and rewarding environment
FSI experience in a Cerner Millennium environment
Cloverleaf Interface engine development and support including Tcl scripting
Familiar with UNIX/Linux/AIX shell
Development experience with Web Services
Proficiency with a programming language
