Position Information:
The Plant Mechanic is responsible for the overall maintenance of the boiler or chiller plant and assigned additional equipment.Boiler responsibilities include: operation, troubleshooting, periodic maintenance, and repair of the boilers and steam components including additionally assigned duties. Components include: underground storage tank, fuel storage tank, boiler water feed system, hot water reheat pumps, steam traps, condensate pumps, steam reducing valves, water softener, DA tanks, control air compressors, dryers, medical air compressors, and steam traps, water analysis, operate pipe threading machine. Chiller responsibilities include: operation, troubleshooting, periodic maintenance, and repair of the chillers and components including additionally assigned duties. Components include: chillers, chilled water and condenser pumps and cooling towers, refrigerant monitor, fan coil units, and side stream filters, and perform water analysis for chilled water. The Plant Mechanic will effectively log daily production/work performed in a work order system tracking time, equipment repairs, and parts through the use of computer or device such as an I-Pad. Must be familiar with the operation of a BAS (Building Automation system) and how it can be used for daily operations, history, and troubleshooting. Must be compassionate and effective communicator as interact with staff and patients during their stay. Must be able to read and understand blue prints for use in troubleshooting these systems and equipment.
Experience Requirements:
5 Years HVAC Maintenance And/Or 3 Years Electrical Construction, Maintenance and Repair And/Or 2 Years Plumbing And/Or 3 Years Facilities Maintenance Required - And/Or Related Position Experience Preferred

High School Diploma or Equivalent Required
