Mount Nittany Health plans to strengthen its commitment to outstanding care by making significant new investments at Mount Nittany Medical Center and in its outpatient locations. In the fall of 2021, the health system started the planning process for construction of a new inpatient tower on the medical center campus. This state-of-the-art facility will feature private patient rooms, combined with a variety of other community, clinical and support service enhancements. In addition, the organization will renovate the Medical Center’s outpatient lab and imaging departments to create a newly-designed diagnostic pavilion on the hospital’s main floor. The renovation will happen in phases, resulting in enhanced patient experience, improved staff environment, and the ability to accommodate the latest diagnostic technology.
In addition to investments at the Medical Center, the health system continues to grow its outpatient services. Mount Nittany Health will break ground in Summer 2022 on a new multi-story, 125,000 sq ft outpatient center in the Toftrees area of State College, with the goal of expanding access to both its family medicine and medical specialty practices. Several renovation projects also are planned for a number of Mount Nittany Health’s existing specialty practices.
“Both patients and our providers need these new spaces as we continue to grow,” said Kathleen Rhine, President and CEO, Mount Nittany Health. “We are pleased make these necessary investments to advance clinical excellence for our community and to further our mission of healthier people and a stronger community.”
