Associate Project Manager- Planning, Design, and Construction
The Associate Project Manager is part of the Planning, Design, and Construction (PDC) team that manages planning, design, and construction activities for VUMC's capital building and renovation projects. The Associate Project Manager works in partnership with PDC's Architect Project Managers and Construction Project Managers on their assigned construction projects and keeps all parties informed, as well as, seeks direction from appropriate sources as needed. The Associate Project Manager may work independently and/or may assist other Project Managers in their oversight for all aspects of the design and construction projects assigned, including cost, scope, quality, overall schedule, and accurate/timely close out of projects.
The Associate Project Manager will interact with external architects and construction teams, as well as internal collaborators such as Facilities Management, Space Management, the Office of Clinical and Research Safety, Risk Management, etc., as well as the PDC financial team.
JOB SUMMARY:
Assist and supervise the operation and administration of design and construction projects.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Works closely with PDC's Architect Project Managers and Construction Project Managers to support and manages project deliverables within budget and on schedule
May analyze and generate project budgets and schedules
Identifies, understands, and actively manages project risks
Coordinates the various stakeholders of the project including contractor, design team, vendors, and end user
Identifies potential schedule impacts including scope, weather, manpower and changes and facilitates mitigation plans for these impacts
Negotiates project issues including change order, contingency expenditures
Maintains thorough understanding of contract documents
Participates in Owner/Architect/ Contractor meetings
Communicates and enforces VUMC safety policies
Provides support for the planning, developing, and executing the project to meet established goals, objectives, and timelines
Supports the day-to-day project activities
