We are seeking a seasoned director of facilities to direct the operations of our hospital and building facilities and create a safe and efficient work environment that optimizes staff productivity. Duties for the director of facilities will include directing facilities functions, implementing policies and safety procedures, engaging with vendors and contractors, minimizing hazards, preparing facilities budgets and monitoring expenditure, designing and planning construction projects, coordinating remodeling and refurbishment initiatives, testing equipment, forecasting space needs, ensuring compliance regulatory and accreditation requirements, coordinating relocations, and negotiating lease agreements. Your skills in managing facilities and directing facilities functions will assist our organization in creating integrated spaces, minimizing disruptions to overall clinical and business operations, improving working conditions, and creating a safe and comfortable environment for both staff and patients.
Los Angeles County+USC Medical Center is one of the largest public hospitals and medical training centers in the United States, and the largest single provider of healthcare in Los Angeles County. It provides healthcare services for the region's medically underserved, is a Level I trauma center and treats over 28 percent of the region's trauma victims. LAC+USC is one of the busiest public hospitals in the Western United States, with nearly 39,000 inpatients discharged, and one million ambulatory care patient visits each year. The Emergency Department is one of the world's busiest, with more than 150,000 visits per year. LAC+USC operates one of only three burn centers in Los Angeles County and one of the few Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Units in Southern California.
OPTION I: Four (4) years of experience at the level of Manager I, Facilities Operations and Crafts, supervising multiple facilities operations and crafts functions, or assisting in the management of a facilities operations and building crafts program in a healthcare setting implementing Title 22 requirements, Joint Commission standards, and all other pertinent local, state, and federal regulations and codes.
OPTION II: A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in construction engineering technology, engineering, architecture, or a related field -AND- Two (2) years of experience at the level of Manager I, Facilities Operations and Crafts, supervising multiple facilities operations and crafts functions, or assisting in the management of a facilities operations and building crafts program in a healthcare setting implementing Title 22 requirements, Joint Commission standards, and all other pertinent local, state, and federal regulations and codes.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS: Additional credit will be given to applicants that possess the following desirable qualifications: Any additional experience in excess of the Minimum Requirement for the qualifying option.
