Summary: Under direct supervision perform routine trash disposal, ground keeping, delivery/messenger duties and assist skilled tradesmen as directed.

Possess valid Delaware driver's license with no more than two points on current driving record.
Responsibilities: Inspects, repairs and maintains equipment as required to assure all is functioning properly. Call on other Mechanics as needed if repair is above scope of work. Perform scheduled preventive maintenance work on systems and equipment and complete all paperwork, records and reports as required. Provide general helper assistance to electrician, plumber, painter, mechanics and other trades as directed. Coordinates preventive maintenance with scheduled repairs and emergency work activity. Manage Chemical Hazard Waste according to Hospital, State and Federal guidelines to assure 100% compliance. Maintain all records as required. May be required to assist in maintaining grounds in clean and neat condition; remove debris from grounds, and remove snow. Care for and maintain equipment and supplies used in performance of duties. Keep work areas orderly, clean and safe. May assist as necessary to pick-up and transport trash from buildings outside of the medical center and take to disposal area. Maintain established hospital policies, procedures, objectives, quality assurance, safety, environmental and infection control. Other duties as assigned.
