SUMMARY OF POSITION:
Responsible to provide supervision and administration of the Electrical Shop personnel including training, performance reviews, scheduling, assignments, discipline, timekeeping, safety and support. Manage and oversee the operation and maintenance of equipment associated with this shop. Ensure maintenance and repair of the campus electrical system from the 69,000 volt sub-station down to the 110 volt outlets. This position will also provide 24/7 on-call coverage on a rotational basis with occasional emergency response required during unscheduled times to include weather related.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelors degree with five years of related experience required; Or
Associates Degree in Electrical Technology or a closely related field plus seven years of related experience required; Or
Nine years of related facilities maintenance experience required
Experience must include at least four years of supervisory experience
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
Excellent customer service skills
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Good computer skills
Project development and management skills
Ability to collect, manage, analyze and report data
Ability to learn, understand and stay current with regulatory requirements
Basic budgeting skills
Knowledge of equipment, operating and maintenance, tolerances, limitations and efficiencies of high and medium voltage electrical systems and power generating equipment
Well versed in electrical theory
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Previous supervisory experience in a union environment preferred
Supervisory skills
Good computer skills
Knowledge of root cause failure analysis process
Associates Degree or higher is preferred
2 years of supervisory/lead experience in a facilities maintenance organization preferred
