SUMMARY OF POSITION:
Maintains clinical equipment through the effective use of the Medical Equipment Management Plan in compliance with the Joint Commission Standards. Demonstrates a mastery of skills and tasks associated with the installation, maintenance, calibration, and repair of complex biomedical equipment that may be interconnected. Capable of educating others, including clinical staff related to the technical integration of the device/system. Fully experienced with an exceptional skill set or knowledge, works with minimal supervision; capable of serving as a trainer, mentor to junior and mid-level staff. Capable of performing in a lead capacity.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Â
Associate's degree in Biomedical or Electronics Technology or related field or equivalent military training required
7+ years of related experience required
IT certification, such as networking or A++ required
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
Mastery knowledge of highly complex clinical equipment, laboratory and network medical systems, such as anesthesia machines and ventilators
Comprehensive knowledge of simple clinical equipment
Comprehensive understanding of safety issues surrounding medical equipment
Comprehensive understanding of both local and national public safety and regulatory issues
Ability to apply advanced safety concepts to work and patient care environment and identify future possible issues
Ability to read, understand and apply existing contract requirements
Ability to communicate effective both verbally and in writing to groups or individuals in a focused and compelling way to drive others thoughts and actions
Basic ability to build customer and vendor relationships
Ability to interact with others in a way that promotes trust
Ability to identify areas for continuous learning and improvement
Basic ability to develop and use collaborative skills and teamwork to facilitate work goals
Ability to act as primary liaison with other support services departments, such as IT and Facilities to resolve issues
Ability to modify own behavior to accommodate tasks/situations
Basic ability to maintain effectiveness when experiences changes in work and responsibility
Demonstrates commitment to PSH ValuesÂ
Comprehensive understanding and can communicate the use of devices supported
Highly familiar with the operations and environment that they support (hospital, clinic, etc.)
In-depth advanced experience in assigned clinical environment
Ability to plan and organize highly complex work to assure timely and accurate completion
Ability to identify and predict complex issues, problems and opportunities and take action within scope of this job that is consistent with available facts, constraints and probable consequences
Ability to identify continuous improvement opportunities at a department level and take action within the scope of this role to maximize organization effectiveness
Highly experienced in using computer programs with the ability to run reports and navigate databases
Ability to mentor and teach others
Ability to work independently without daily management oversight and manage workload independently
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Valid driver's license preferred
BMET certification preferred
