Job Summary:
JOB SUMMARY
This position consists of managing services and monitoring the data centers electrical and mechanical industrial systems to include servers, applications, networks, and device infrastructure deployed within VUMC's 24x7x365 mission-critical data center. You will be tasked as one of the Lead technical resources for these monitoring and control services, ensuring availability and telemetry for critical electrical and mechanical controls systems.
The VUMC data center team is tasked with design and operation of the electrical, mechanical, and HVAC infrastructure that supports multiple data center locations. The Sr. Critical Facilities Analysts at VUMC data centers operate, monitor, and support the physical facilities conditions. Some of these duties will include heating and cooling of air and water, power supply, generators, UPS systems, electrical distribution and control and monitoring systems.
This role acts as VUMC's front line when it comes to monitoring and maintaining the VUMC Data Center Building Monitoring System (BMS). This involvement encompasses initial equipment installation and networking, as well as frequent audits and improvements pertaining to existing equipment. Individuals in this role will establish appropriate monitoring protocols/procedures for mission-critical infrastructure including electrical distribution equipment, emergency generation gear, and fluid systems within VUMC. In addition to heavy involvement within the Data Center team, this position interfaces regularly with other VUMC workgroups to address external monitoring needs.

Responsibilities
- Operate, monitor, maintain, and respond to abnormal conditions affecting critical infrastructure.
- Monitor, track, and trend operational parameters associated with a wide array of equipment.
- Develop and implement automated engineered safety features to supplement the 24/7 operations staff.
- Implement, improve, and maintain automated alarm & notification features associated with abnormal conditions.
- Adhere to and enforce good work practices and regulatory compliance during installation, commissioning, testing, and preventative maintenance for all engineering systems.
- Oversee maintenance and operational programs and testing for our emergency backup, standby power, electrical systems, and HVAC systems.
- Ability to schedule, track, and prepare administrative documentation for all maintenance.
- Appropriately utilize our Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to audit and maintain an appropriate stock of critical spares and consumables.
- Proactively identify potential issues before they occur.
- Work on a team of highly technical and talented engineers chartered with maintaining the medical centers infrastructure for our Data Centers.
- Support day-to-day operations and escalations.
- Improve and optimize system administration and management with automation.
- Troubleshoot firewall issues and modifying access control lists.
- Support large-scale disaster recovery exercises while working closely with other infrastructure, production, and business teams at VUMC.

- Provide QA/QC support of newly deployed infrastructure monitoring.
Minimum Qualification
