UCLA Health IT is looking for an exceptional, driven Analytics DevOps Engineer to join the Solutions Architecture and Engineering’s High-Performance Computing (SAE-HPC) Team. The goal for the SAE-HPC team is to drive the development and optimization of our HPC clusters, research, and clinical environments, ensuring service reliability, performance, efficiency, and security. The Analytics DevOps Engineer will contribute to the design, management, optimization, and automation of our next generation of HPC clusters and self-service platforms for our research and clinical environments.
This role is suited for a professional with experience in web development and working knowledge of cloud infrastructure, Linux and Windows administration, and DevOps principles. The Analytics DevOps Engineer will collaborate with senior team members and independently handle smaller projects, gradually taking on more complex tasks as they gain experience.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate initiative by actively seeking out learning opportunities, such as completing online tutorials, and will be eager to apply their knowledge to real-world projects.
This flexible hybrid role allows for a blend of remote and on-site work, requiring presence on-site as needed based on operational requirements. Please note, travel to the "home office" location is not reimbursed. Each employee will complete a FlexWork Agreement with their manager to outline expectations and ensure mutual understanding. These arrangements are periodically reviewed and may be adjusted or terminated as necessary.
Salary offers are based on a variety of factors including qualifications, experience, and internal equity. The full salary range for this position is $76,200 - $158,800 annually. The University anticipates offering a salary between the minimum and midpoint.
Qualifications
BS/MS in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
2-4 years of Development experience using languages like Python, Java, C++, JSON, Node.js (JavaScript), Ruby, and relevant scripting languages (plus for development experience).
Working knowledge of DevOps principles and practices, or experience in a real-time operational role.
Experience with software development principles and GitHub or other SDLC/Version Control System, Pull Requests, Issues, etc.
Proven ability to automate processes using tools like Terraform, Chef, Puppet, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or AWS CloudFormation.
Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes for efficient application deployment and management.
Knowledge of high-performance computing environments is a plus
