Job Summary: The Senior Maintenance Mechanic performs a variety of journey level building maintenance and repair jobs, including the inspection of buildings to determine the need for repair, the planning and layout of work to be done, and the estimating of material costs and staffing requirements. This classification is distinguished by the fact that while an incumbent may be more proficient in a specific trade, the nature of the work is such that assignments may cross into all aspects involved in the maintenance and repair of buildings, equipment and grounds.
