Job Summary: As the Lead Project Manager within our Information Technology team, you will provide expert leadership in managing our most critical and complex technical programs and project portfolios, which encompass operational improvement and transformation initiatives, special operational implementations, and core IT projects. You will be responsible for overseeing these portfolios, defining and implementing project management standards across the team, ensuring strategic alignment, and driving successful outcomes. This role requires significant interaction with senior leadership and involves mentoring and developing other project managers. Responsibilities:
- Program & Portfolio Management: Oversee portfolios of complex technical projects or programs, ensuring alignment with overarching departmental and organizational strategy.
- Executive Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, facilitating strategic discussions, providing insightful reporting, and ensuring executive alignment on project priorities and progress.
- Strategic Product Enhancement Management: Drive the strategy for product enhancement queues, ensuring alignment with long-term vision, resource capacity, and organizational impact.
- Team Leadership & Methodology Definition: Lead and mentor a team of technical project managers; define, implement, and govern project management methodologies, standards, and tools for the team.
- Cross-Departmental Coordination & Influence: Facilitate high-level coordination and collaboration between Operational Excellence & Enterprise Data Analytics and other departments, influencing outcomes and removing roadblocks.
- Strategic Risk Management: Oversee risk management across project portfolios, including identifying and mitigating risks associated with external dependencies and task ownership; develop sophisticated mitigation strategies and handle complex, high-level escalations.
- Mentorship & Development: Actively mentor and develop the skills of Sr. and regular Project Managers within the team.
- Strategic Planning & Continuous Improvement: Contribute significantly to the strategic planning for the Program/Product Management function; lead initiatives to drive substantial improvements in project delivery effectiveness.
Qualifications/Requirements:
Experience:
- Seven years of progressively responsible experience devoted to project management, required
- Two years of experience in project management in a public health, Information technology and lifecycle, health regulatory or health services related organization or program, preferred.
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree, required
- Master's degree, preferred
Licenses / Certifications:
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, preferred
